How AI (Artificial Intelligence) is Helping to Fight Against Covid -19 Crisis

If I talk about the situation of the current scenario then we are facing a lot of changes around us in day-to-day life and going through tough times because of the covid-19 crises. This pandemic is the most disastrous one in human history, it destroys and affects millions of lives. The main reason for being the most terrible pandemic is because this pandemic is contagious and new for the population, that's why it is spreading relentlessly.

But as the quote says that,'There is no problem bigger than human will power'.So according to the problem their solutions also occurred, during the lockdown people come up with lots of ideas, innovations and set a fabulous example in front of it. We move on from offline classes to online ones, the value of online conferences has increased, so during the pandemic, the role of technology also increased and we are somewhere fully dependent on technology for our daily basis tasks.

In this article, I am going to highlight some important roles of Artificial Intelligence that combat the covid -19 crisis. As this is the era of Artificial Intelligent, So AI nowadays plays an important role in today's life. We use AI in our smartphones, our personal assistants, in medical fields, in the field of research and technology, in aerospace, and in defense systems.

Day by day advancements in AI application such as Natural Language Processing(NLP), Speech Recognition, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and others such as chatbots and facial recognition have not only been utilized for diagnosis but also for contact tracing and vaccine development.

AI technologies play a key role in every aspect of the COVID-19 crisis response, like monitoring recovery and improving early warning tools, responding to the health crisis through personalized information and learning, detecting and diagnosing the virus, and predicting its evolution, understanding the virus and accelerating medical research on drugs and treatments.

Below is the list of some tasks where the AI is applied during the Covid-19 crisis-

●     For Maintaining Patient Records:- Artificial Intelligence plays a major role in maintaining the covid -19 patient records. With the help of ML and AI, one can easily track the previous history of data records of patients who were recovered from the covid-19 virus and suffering from covid-19. It is easy to maintain and track down the whole and accurate data records.

●     Disease Surveillance AI:- As the coronavirus is an infectious disease and its surveillance is crucial. Human activity especially migration has been responsible for the spread of the virus around the world. With the help of chatbots and NLP, we can trace and track the information report on the spread of covid-19.

●     Virtual Healthcare Chatbots & Applications:- The number of coronavirus cases has shown that healthcare systems and response can be overwhelmed. In this pandemic where everyone is not able to go to the doctor and take their appointments, in this case, AI-based chatbot robots help solve some queries and able to answer the questions related to covid-19 and their symptoms and advise individuals whether they need hospital screening or self-isolation at their homes.

●     Fever Detector using Facial Recognition:- With the help of facial detection and thermal cameras used for detecting people with fever. Cameras processing AI-based multisensory technologies are used in many public places like airports, hospitals, offices, etc. The technology automatically detects individuals with fever and tracks their movement and with face detection, it can easily detect that a person is well or not.

●     Intelligent Drones and Robots:- The use of intelligent drones and robots are also increased during the pandemic, like drones are useful to convey the information to the general public and it is also helpful to surveillance in different areas with the help of cameras, that the people is following the covid-19 rules or not? The robots are helping in hospitals to serve the medical and foods to the patients and this is the safest way to contact patients with no harm. The demand for these robots has been increased due to covid-19. Robots are also helpful in cleaning and sterilization of isolation wards that have also been filled by robots.

While the whole world is suffering from the covid -19 crises, there are many innovations that come in front of us and it moves our life in a positive and changing environment. With the help of technology, we are able to handle this crisis a bit and move forward in the same direction, and keep ourselves ready for the future to tackle the same situation like this in a more prominent and confident way.
